Let's Run Girls loves to welcome ladies who have never run before. Our beginners programmes are suitable for true beginners. We loosely follow the NHS Couch to 5k model, starting in week 1 with running for a maximum of 60 seconds at a time, with walk breaks in between.
Over the course of the 10-12 week programme, you will build up gradually to run for longer periods of time, with fewer walk intervals. At the end of the programme, you will be running for 30 minutes continuously. In that 30 minutes, you may or may not cover 5k.
We encourage our beginner graduates to feed into our Steady 5k groups when they feel ready.
We generally start new programmes in January, April or September each year (with some ongoing disruptions due to the Covid-19 pandemic) and we encourage anyone with little or no previous running experience to join us within the first three weeks of the start of a new programme to be in the best place to progress.

We recognise that running can put a lot of pressure on your body, especially if you're not used to walking regularly before you start. That's why we've teamed up with Let's Get Moving Cambridge to design a 4 week 'Walk Before You Run' programme
